Ipsy Unboxing: August 2014

PRODUCTS:
- Lord & Berry Black Mini Kohl-Liner (.6g)
- Glam Glow Youthmud (.5fl oz)
- Manna Kadar Sheer Glow Shimmer Lotion (0.27 oz)
- Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (0.1fl oz)
- Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Balm (.15 0z)

REVIEW:
Okay so there were 5 products in this bag, but this bag was totally a downer. The ONLY full size item this month was a LIP BALM, which you can't really make in a mini size since they are relatively already so small. So the full size balm prices range from $2.99-$3.99, and the sample sizes range from affordable to only one usage. Now lets dissect each one, shall we.

Lord & Berry Mini Liner:
So this thing is the size of my pinky, and the formula is kinda soft and kinda pigmented. For this I could've gone to the dollar store and bought a full size ELF one and get more use out of it. So yeah, not excited to get this product.

Glam Glow Youthmud:
There is probably 1-2 uses of this product. And I know its a very expensive product, but at least we get to try it, which is the real meaning of these products. The thing is, if you want me to buy a $60+ exfoliator, you should give out larger sample sizes so I can actually TRY the product.

Manna Kadar Sheer Glow Lotion:
This is probably my favorite product. Yes, it is tiny, but you only need a little to get a full face of highlighting. I use this as a cheek highlighter, but you can add it into your foundation for an all around highlighted look. It is a pinkish tone, so you might have to incorporate it into your look, but still, I CAN ACTUALLY USE THIS PRODUCT.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara:
Yes, I love how they added a higher brand, but seriously. The size of the tube, is the size of my middle finger, but the brush takes up all of the inside, so just imagine how much product is inside. I say 4-5 uses before it gets clumpy and dry. I could probably get this for FREE if I ordered directly from UD.

Mongongo Lip Balm:
This is probably the only item I have used ever since I've received the bag and I ACTUALLY get to use. Its amazingly moisturizing and I love it. It is USDA Organic and it is the best. But I feel like this shouldn't be considered the full size product for a subscription service. I guess this was a $10 lipbalm.

OVERALL RATING:
This bag is a 6/10. Could've been better, but there were some decent products. PLUS the BAG was flimsy and something I would've gave to my 8 year old cousin.

BEAUTY BOX 5 REVIEW: AUGUST

Hey lovelies! If you are subscribed to this box and are curious to what I got, or if you're scoping out any other beauty subscription service because let's face it, we all need more, join me in dissecting this months box!

THEME: Radiant & Remarkable
RATE & REVIEW:
9/10 for the box, for some reason I feel like it's missing something, is that weird?
It had the pert combination of hair, skin, nail, and cosmetic products!

Item #1:
NANACOCO Lip Gloss:
Retail rice: $3.99
Color I got: Mysterious.
Okay I am in love. This gloss is SUPER pigmented and SUPER affordable. In the box all subscribers received a full size gloss in various colors, but mine was a bubblegum pink. BUT for me, the color wasn't suitable for my skintone WHEN I used a heavy hand, but when I dabbed it lightly on my lips, the color was amazing. The product isn't sticky at all but it is amazingly pigmented.

Item #2
Purlisse Pur-Protect SPF 30 Moisturizer/Sunscreen:
Retail price: $55.00 for 1.7 oz (and we received a .5 oz sample)
Okay, if you have ipsy, you may have gotten the SAME exact product last month, or a similar products months before, but to be honest, I don't mind! I LOVE this moisturizer. The product doesn't leave a greasy finish and with SPF 30 you can't go wrong. I ALWAYS add moisturizer to my makeup routine and having a dependable moisturizer is a must. Now I don't know if I would buy the full size product but knowing these subscription services, I'll end up getting the full size value in samples.

Item #3
LA FRESH Travel Lite Makeup Remover Wipes:
Retail price: $19.99 for 48 Packets (we received 1 pig with 8 wipes)
I love makeup wipes but I hate getting them in such small quantities. But I understand, we're sampling it out, but since these are Oil-Free wipes, I think I'm going to stash them in my bag for whenever I have a makeup meltdown.

Item #4
Novex Brazilian Kerstin
Retails for $19.50 for 2lbs, we received 30g
Okay so I haven't used this product yet but let it sink in that we just got a packet of pure Keratin. You can do your own treatment at home and you don't have to go through all the trouble. I'm excited to try this product! Yay, hair food!

Item #5
Style Essentials Nail Polish
Retails: $7.00 for a 4 Piece Collection
I got a cuteeee black and white accent polish, which reminds me of the Sephora X collection polish. Its a smaller size, in between a mini and a full size, but the polish has different sizes and shapes and its pretty awesome.

Benefit They're Real! Push Up Liner REVIEW!

Some love it, some hate it. I am in between. This is a HEAVY DUTY liner. If you're going to school or work ALL DAY then yes, this is a great product. Going to a concert? YES. Going out in the rain? YES. Getting caught in a hurricane? THIS WILL HELP. IT WILL GO NOWHERE. But if you like to tug at your eyes to get makeup off then this will make ya happy. So enough with the sarcasm, lets get to the pros & cons.

PROS:
- Glides on SO SMOOTHLY.
- INTENSE black color.
- Easy to apply.
- Great for winged eyeliner looks.
- Waterproof, sweat proof, hurricane proof.

CONS:
- WONT come off without a fight.
- If you twist it and don't use it, it'll dry and wont apply smoothly.
- Over $20 for an eyeliner? Really?

Rating: 8/10 ***

REVIEW: Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade

To go gel, you need to be brave. Everyone knows that Anastasia Beverly Hills is the Queen of eyebrows, but gel ISN'T for everybody. I, personally, have thicker eyebrows, but not crazy thick, and I use the gel for shaping my eyebrows. That's exactly what its made to do, SHAPE. If you are happy with your shape, and you just want to make them a bit bolder, go for the Brow Wiz. If you want more filled brows, the powder duos are for you.. A GREAT pair is the Pomade and the powder. With both, your eyebrows will look flawless. For application, you want to find a brush that suits to your eyebrow. I use the Tarter eyebrow brush, and its a wider brush, which suits my brows, but the Japonesque brush in 214 is also a great affordable brush for detailing. If you want even BOLDER brows, I would suggest the Anastasia Concealers for the brows.

PROS:
- Amazing for the right kind of brow.
- Not too messy, easy and quick (with practice).
- Many kinds of colors so you can find the perfect shade.

CONS:
- The Price is probably the only downside, but BELIEVE ME, the Pomade lasts forever, unlike the brow wiz.

RATE: 10/10 ***
